Military Jackets & Neon Indian

Next up on the Coachella 101 syllabus,
--Neon Indian--
With the reputation of having one of the most dynamic, rocking, all out dance-party live shows in the biz, Neon Indian is sure to be one of the highlights of Coachella weekend.
Their much anticipated second album, Era Extrana, has proven that 'chillwave,' can in fact have a sense of humor and be serious, while still being really fun. The intricate synths, uplifting melodies and bizarre samples of everything from rocket ships to phone conversations come together to make  some effin' great music that is sure to be even better live and really loud.

To get yourself acquainted:

What to wear while listening:
'The Foxy Festival-er'
For the festival veteran, who knows: 1) she will get cold at night and need a jacket and, 2) that her dancing will be inhibited if she is not wearing sneakers.

Explosions in the Sky-Take Care, Take Care, Take Care

Austin based, instrumental rock band, Explosions in the Sky, will be filling the Indio night air with their dynamic music this upcoming Coachella. The antithesis to all that is the Sahara Tent, Explosions' live performance is more like a mini symphony than an hour long rock set.
You will not want to miss out on this performance because it is sure to be one of the most epic jam-seshes of the entire weekend. To get yourself familiar with the tunes, I've attached Explosions in the Sky's newest album, Take Care, Take Care, Take Care

So get excited people, it is Friday, and we are officially three weeks out.

What to wear while you listen:
Because the LWD (little white dress) is always a Spring season and Coachella staple, I've styled two looks using the LWD with very different personalities.
I've aptly named each look-
Hippie Chic & 'Orange' You A Flirt ;)

From Runway to Real World: High Slit Maxi Skirts

This season the maxi skirt has been taken up a notch, quite literally, with the re-birth of the 'thigh-high slit.' Angie did it at the Oscars, proving that the slit, and your right leg, are dying for a "fashion moment." Because a black velvet Versace dress is not always appropriate for your day to day life, I've come up with two ways to style the high-slit maxi skirt.
